Semester in Review

Fall 2024

Our members kept busy this fall semester. We started off with a delicious pulled pork barbeque to welcome new and old members to campus. Members enjoyed good food, made new friends, and had fun. Our first meeting was a huge hit. Our Vice President, Daisy Medina, had found a book over the summer about the medicinal uses for various range plants. Members made a rose salve from roses, oil, and vitamin E to bring home. There were plenty to go around and everyone had a great time. We also had a representative from our local conservation district come in at our next meeting. Glenn gave a great presentation on what the district does and what his career path looked like. Members also got a presentation about perfecting their USAJobs resume from our Career Services representative. Clayton did a fantastic job explaining what information to put on a resume to successfully apply for government positions.

Members also put in a ton of hard work for fundraising. Every semester, the club holds a much-anticipated pancake sale, providing breakfast to many hungry students. We also helped clean up after one of the Vandal basketball games. Our last fundraiser of the semester was a raffle held during the annual Christmas on the Range potluck and planned by our Secretary Taylor Newey. Prizes such as wildflower seeds, hats and pocketknives were raffled off. The raffle and the potluck were a huge success, allowing our members to get together before break and interact with faculty.

Overall, we had a great semester and are looking forward to this spring!
